Gothic Basin

Travis and I were up and out early this morning for a trek up to Gothic Basin.  The trip took us up the Monte Cristo Road for a couple miles.  Then we followed an old miner’s trail up the Weden Creek drainage for about 3.5 miles.  We topped out at about 5200 feet, but unfortunately we were encased in the clouds all day so not much in the way of sweeping panoramic vistas.  We did however find plenty of beautiful sights along the way.  Have a look at some of the images:

Lowland creek crossing

Wildflowers were still blooming

Fog and snow in the canyonWaterfalls and tiny creeks were everywhere

Hey Dad, This Sucks!

Alpine tarns and creeks

Hey Dad, this coffee is Awesome!

We we didn’t see Foggy Peak or Foggy Lake because it was too…Foggy! That’s all for now.  Kat
